The parking lot was a little fuller this morning as the staff returns this week for Workshop Week at Pine City Schools. A light breakfast before morning workshop sessions in the Auditorium. We are excited to have our staff back for a new school year!







This week the school district welcomed new educators to the district with a light breakfast and a variety of new staff training sessions. The sessions included a presentation from the Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce and gift bags for each new educator provided by the Pine City area businesses.


During day 2 of ULC (Unique Learner's Conference) our elementary special education team prepared for our learners by solidifying caseloads, teacher schedules and para schedules to support our learners. This was an excellent opportunity for collaboration and team partnership!


Judy Willette, an Amazon Hub Partner & member of our community, nominated Pine City Schools for Together We Give: Back to School donation program with Amazon. Pine City students received 60 backpacks pre-filled with school supplies thanks to the program! Thank you Amazon and Judy Willette for your support of our students!

This week there are 2 new postings added to the District employment website. We are looking for an Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach and a Long-Term-Sub position at the elementary school. Learn more on the Employment Link at isd578.org

The 2025-26 School Supply List has been posted to the website for our elementary students. Thanks to a partnership with the Pine Dragons PTO, the supply list for students is minimal.

Is your student excited for their sports journey ahead of them in High School? One thing they'll need is their Sports Physical up to date! Sports Physicals are required for student athletes in grades 7-12, and they're valid for 3 years.

Earlier this week the Section 6A Boys Tennis held their doubles tournament and a few of our PCHS players took home medals. Congratulations to Aaron Rootkie & Milo Rydberg on their 3rd place finish. Bryer Berube and Brady Berglund placed 2nd and will advance to the state tournament.

Congratulations to our Pine City Track State Qualifiers: Boys 4x800m Relay of Braxton Peetz, Weston Clementson, Charlie Ausmus, and Eli Fromm won with a time of 8:13.51! Our boys 4x400m Relay of Sawyer McDaniel, Weston Clementson, Rudy Gatzke, and Anthony Bergeron place 3rd in 3:31.35! They qualified by beating the time qualifier. Weston Clementson takes 2nd in the 800m run with a personal best time of 1:58.55! The State meet will be held at St. Michael-Albertville High School on Tuesday, June 10th and Wednesday, June 11th. Both days start at 3:30pm.



The Pine City Area Learning Center will recognize their Class of 2025 graduates tonight at the Pine City High School Auditorium at 7:00 PM. Doors will open for the public at 6:30 PM and all are invited for this special event.

The community is invited to attend the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2025 on Friday, May 30th at 7:00 PM. Graduation is held in the High School Gymnasium. Doors open for the public at 6:30 PM.

The Pine City Athletic Hall of Fame Committee members are now accepting nominations of former Dragons for possible induction into the Hall of Fame.

Join the Pine City High School Art Department tonight for the opening night reception for this year's student art show! Reception will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and will showcase the work of our talented students. The Art Show display will remain open from Monday, May 19th through Tuesday, May 27th. The work will be on display in the lobby of the High School Auditorium.

Pine City Elementary is still planning to begin Field Day on Friday morning as scheduled. Staff is closely monitoring the weather and will make any necessary changes with student safety as our top priority.
Please note that students may get wet during the day's activities, so we recommend sending an extra pair of socks and a change of clothes with your student on Friday!

The Senior High Pops Concert will take the stage on Thursday, May 15th at 7:00 PM. All are invited to come out and support the 9-12 grade students in their final concert of the year at the Pine City High School Auditorium.

Don't miss the Elementary Choir Concert on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30 PM in the Pine City High School Auditorium.
An important note regarding this event, there will NOT be a daytime matinee this year at the elementary school.

On Sunday April 27th, 18 new members were inducted into the Pine City High School National Honor Society!
