Beginning with the first day of school, there will be a new cell phone policy in effect for all students. The “Bell-to-Bell No Cell” policy is being implemented to support the learning needs for all students within the district.
The preferred option for students is simply to leave their cell phone, smart watch and other electronic devices at home. The district, however, recognizes that this will not be feasible for all students and procedures are being implemented at each building to address that need.
Elementary School Students
“Bell-to-Bell” at the elementary school will be from 8am - 2:45pm
“Bell-to-Bell” includes lunch, recess and time in between class periods
Each classroom will have a cell phone storage unit that will be locked during the day and students will be expected to use this storage unit when they must bring a phone to school
Pockets, backpacks and lockers are NOT an acceptable location for storing a student’s device.
If a student does not follow this procedure, their device will be confiscated and placed in the main office and only released to a parent or guardian.
High School Students
“Bell-to-Bell” at the high school will be from 8am - 2:57pm
“Bell-to-Bell” includes lunch and time in between class periods
May choose to leave their cell phone, smart watch or other electronic device locked in their car for the entirety of the school day
Students arriving before school starts that will be in school for the full day will place their device in their 8th period class for secure storage.
Students with a town pass at any time during the school day will use the storage unit in the administrative office.
Students in a sport or activity with an early release will use the storage designated by your coach
Students arriving after the start of the first period or leaving before the end of the day due to PSEO classes, FLEX time, ALC classes or Worklink will use the storage unit, supervised by staff, near the main entrance to the school.
