School Meal Payment Options

Picture
The Wordware Meal Account System allows parents/guardians to access student meal information over the internet. This program enables parents/guardians to make payments, view their student’s current and previous lunch purchases, food service payments and account balance and set up low balance reminders.

You can now complete your Application for Meal Benefits online through Wordware! This makes it even quicker and easier for your family to apply for free or reduced-price meals. This link shows you where you can find the application through your Wordware account.

If you have not created an account, submit a form on the Contact Us page or contact the Food and Nutrition Director by phone at 320-629-4167 or email at palbrecht@isd578.org.

We Offer a Number of Payment Options
As a school nutrition program, we require prepayment for meals and food items purchased through our breakfast and lunch program. There are several payment options you can use:

Check*: Please place the student name(s) in the memo and make the check out to Pine City Food Service and send to 1400 Main St. S. Pine City, MN 55063 or deposit in the lunch money box at the Elementary or Junior/Senior High School.

Cash payment*: Please have the student or parent/guardian deposit cash payments in lunch money box at Elementary or Junior/Senior High School and make sure the student’s name is printed on the envelope.

Online payment: Once you have an account with Wordware, funds can be directly added with the click of a button using the FEEZEE payment system at https://family.wordwareinc.com/.

*Check or cash payments must be deposited into the lunch money box between 7:30 am and 9:30 am for same day entry into the student account.

Meal Charge Policy Update
Please be aware of our policy for unpaid meal charges. All meal purchases are to be prepaid before meal service begins. Families can add funds to their meal account online through the methods listed above. When it comes to the time of meal service, all students, regardless of meal account balance, will be allowed to charge a full reimbursable meal. Students will not be allowed to charge additional entrees, meals or milks, unless their account contains adequate funds or they make a cash payment at the point of service.

If a negative balance accrues on the account, the expectation is all money owed to the district will be paid in full by the last day the student will be attending classes. Every effort will be made by the Pine City School District to keep the parent/guardian informed regarding their family meal account. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the parent/guardian to maintain a positive balance in their account, so that the district can provide meals to their child(ren). Please review board policy #534 Food and Nutrition Services and Unpaid Meal Charges.

Year-End Remaining Balances:

Balances remaining in a student’s account at the end of the school year will carry over to the next school year. If the student moves to a new building, the balance will transfer. We encourage parents to check balances before school starts to ensure that there is enough money in the account.
Graduating Seniors:

Fund balances of graduating seniors will be automatically maintained in the family account for any siblings remaining within the district. If no sibling is enrolled in the district, please contact Food & Nutrition Services to request a refund or to donate your remaining meal account balance.

Refunds:
Complete a Meal Account Refund Request Form and send it to Food & Nutrition Services at 1400 Main St S Pine City, MN 55063, or fax (320) 629-4070 or scan and email to palbrecht@isd578.org.
