This PowerPoint was originally presented on October 9, 2025.

CIS, Concurrent Enrollment, & AP

College in the Schools (CIS) and Concurrent Enrollment: Dual credit option that provides high school students with the opportunity to take college-credit courses taught by highly qualified teachers who have at least a Master’s degree and are taught at the high school. CIS credits are awarded by the University of Minnesota. Concurrent Enrollment credits are awarded through the Minnesota State Colleges.

Post Secondary Education Options (PSEO): Dual credit option that allows high school students to simultaneously earn high school and college credit through enrollment and successful completion of college-level courses on a college campus or online.

Advanced Placement (AP): Advanced placement courses are designed by The College Board. In May, students can take a test for each AP course in which they are enrolled; students who achieve a certain score may, if their college accepts the AP credit, receive college credit.

There are currently no AP classes offered at PCHS, however, students commonly take the AP test for Calculus and Honors Chemistry.
