Keeping our students safe is something all of us have as a priority.
Keeping our students safe is something all of us have as a priority. Through our school's strategic planning meetings, concerns for drop off and pick up were brought forth. The following items are to inform you about our strategies for student safety.
Drive with Caution ~ Respect Crossing Guards
School busses begin to arrive at our school around 7:45 am. During this time, many parents are also dropping off their children. Please remember to drive with caution! This is a busy time and keeping our students safe requires everyone to do their part.
At the end of the day, the busses arrive around 2:20 pm. From 2:40 - 2:50, our front entrance is a bustling place with around 875 students heading to busses, vehicles or walking home.
We have student crossing guards at the Catholic Church intersection, intersection of 7th Street and 6th Avenue, and at Hwy 61. Please adhere to the crossing guards flags.
Please drive slowly! Please be alert! We thank you in advance!
Use Crosswalks
This is a safety reminder for parents, guardians and students to use cross walks and crossing guards. We discuss with the students how to cross a road safely. Parents and guardians, this is an opportunity for you to show your children how to be safe when crossing the street.
No access to back parking lot for drop off and pick up
During the times of 7:30 - 8:05a.m. and 2:15 - 3:00p.m., the Dragon’s Den/ECFE parking lot will not be accessible for individuals to drop off or pick up their children. This back area is filled with students and by closing the lot during these transitions times their safety increases as they arrive and dismiss from school.

Other Important Reminders for Student Safety:
- School hours are: 8:05am - 2:50pm.
- In the interest of security and safety for students and staff, our school will continue to be locked and students, parents/guardians, and visitors will must enter through the front entrance (Door 1). You will be buzzed in by the front office staff.
- All visitors are required to present a driver’s license or state issued ID for scanning. This system is another step toward insuring the safety of our students.
- All parents/visitors must report directly to the school office. The office personnel will provide information and assistance in an effort to keep classroom interruptions to a minimum.
- Supervision is provided starting at 7:45 A.M. Please do not bring your child to school before that time since there is no supervision. If you need care, please contact Cindy Stolp for information on the NEW Enrichment Program for K-6 students from 6:30 - 7:45 a.m. and then again from 2:50 - 5:30 p.m.
